Q

Describe the management of post-birth care for the baby (4)

A
  • Lay onto mother’s abdomen or a clean warm cloth. Do asap before placenta is delivered unless there’s a medical reason not to.
  • Baby should go from blue to pink after first breaths
  • Wrap in warm protective covering and hand to mother
  • Encourage mother to feed baby as this can help encourage contractions to assist placental expulsion.
