Define: Cervical cancer is a malignant transtormation of the cervix
Risk factors: Smoking. OCPs (oral contraceptive bills). _ low social ciass, multiple sexual partners, HSP herper simplex virus and HPV human papilloma virus infection.
Clinical features
Abnormal vaginal bleeding ( post coital, post menopausal bleeding,intermenstrual bleeding)
Foul smelling vaginal discharge, painful sex, weight loss.
Prevention
-AvOld multiple sexual partners
-AvOid unprotected sex
-AVOId early marriade (marry after age 18 years)

Vaccination
Cervarix vaccine (Bivalent: it targets HPV serotype 16 and 18
Gardasil vaccine (Tetravalent vaccine_ targets HPV serotypes 6 and 11 which are responsible for genital warts., also target 16 and 18
Secondary level
Target population: Sick individuals
Obiective: Early diagnosis and prompt treatment
Method:
Diagnosis: papaniculau smear, Visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA), Visual inspection with lugol’s iodine (VILI)
Colposcopy
Biopsy
Treatment: Surgery, Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy
Tertiary level
Target population: Sick individuals
Obiective: Limit damage and prevent complications
Method:
-Treat adequately
-Treat prevent complications or chemotherapy e.g IV fluid, premedication with ondansetron to prevent vomiting.
Quartenery level
