well as BGT and the traitors. In these programs there are a range of ethnic minority backgrounds and they are all given equal screen time

Eg. the Panesars who are a ethnic minority family

families in the series as they have lots of the main
storylines and a big focus has been put on them

- there has been a shift from overt racism to inferential racism showing there has been a change in media representations of ethnicity
Eg. Little Britain (show was stopped due to characters being overtly racist to those of ethnic minorities) showing subtle positive change as more people are not openly racist

- Blasians as Asians who adopt black culture and combine these with their Asian heritage
- Brasians as British Asians who represent their dual identity
Eg. Jay Sean (blasian identity, success in US has been linked to his adaptation of black rap) and zayn Malik (brasian identity when with his fellow band members of one direction)

- white wannabes are young white working class males who adopt language and style of black culture
- listen to hip hop and rap and dress in a style associated with black males
Eg. Eminem (successful white rapper based on black American rap)
