Diversity-Validity Dilemma
Refers to contradictions between increasing diversity and the realities of employment anti-discrimination law, given existing racio-ethnic and sex differences on many valid selection procedures
Pipeline problem
Problem in the recruitment. Professionals believe their hiring procedures are gender- and race-neutral, but they define the pipeline narrowly
Race discrimination
Differential treatment based on race or ethnicity rather than job-related skills and abilities, especially when behavior or employment decisions negatively impact the target of discrimination
Institutional racism
A system or structure of assumptions, procedures, norms and regulations that disadvantages a group based on color, race or ethnicity
Modern/ symbolic racism
This view supports denigration of blacks as a group because they do not follow traditional American values such as hard work (Racism does not exist)
Implicit bias
An unconscious and automatic respons based on previous experience and implying favorable or unfavorable emotional, cognitive or behavioral reactions towards an attitude object
