Functions of the respiratory system
A
Gas exchange: oxygen is inhaled→ carbon dioxide is exhaled
Movement of fluids: lungs act as a thoracic pump moving lymph and blood to heart
Removes acid from the blood: Carbon dioxide becomes carbonic acid in the blood we remove acid when we exhale carbon dioxide
