A

The report suggested ways to improve things. For example, Beveridge suggested that every worker in Britain should pay some money to their government and in return, receive money if they were sick or injured or lost their job.

He suggested improved old age pensions and financial help for parents for their children and for children’s free medical care for all.

It suggested that it is paid for through taxes and National Insurance contributions.

A

The USA had sent troops to help fight against the new communist government when the country was controlled by a communist government. Joseph Stalin had not forgotten this.

Stalin ruled USSR brutally and signed a peace deal with Hitler on the Nazi-Soviet Pact. this deal meant that Hitler could invade Poland without any interference from the USSR.

It was the Nazi-Soviet Pact that eventually brought Britain and France into the war.
