Compliance
Superficial and temporary type of conformity: going along with the majority’s views, but privately disagreeing. Majourity views last as long as they are monitoring us.
Identification
Act same way as group because we value or want to be a part of it. Don’t necessarily agreed with them.
Internalisation
Deep type of conformity where we take on majority view because we accept it as correct. Permanent change in behaviour even when the group is absent.
Normative social influence
Explanation of conformity that says we agree with majority to gain social approval and be liked. (Compliance)
Informative social influence
explanation of conformity: agree with opinion because believe its correct. We accept it because we want to be correct Aswell. (Internalisation)
