Description
Halmatro Double acting hydraulic Cutters (Cutters)
Use
- In conjunction with hydraulic pump the cutters are used to cut metal, generally associated with RCR.
- Can also be used in other rescue operations (heavy plant and machinery)
Construction
- two centrally pivoted blades connected to cylindrical tool body.
- curved blades constructed of forged steel and body constructed on lightweight structural aluminum.
- recess at base of blades have maximum cutting power.
- tool body houses double acting hydraulic ram, carrying handle, rotating deadman control handle and hydraulic hose connection point.
- built-in safety valve to prevent pressurisation of hose above 360 bar.
Operation
Connection
- Place cutters, hydraulic hose and pump in staging area
- connect hose to pump and tool.
Operation
- start pump
- rotate handle right to open
- rotate handle left to close
- release handle to lock in place
Safety
- never work between tool and vehicle
- watch that the tool doesn’t walk in too far and cause crush injuries
- use clear voice to advise when operating tool (opening tool!)
- have hard protection in place between casualty and tool
- put sharp edge protection in place after making any cuts.
Make-up
- close tool blade so tips are just overlapping
- disconnect hose
- de-energise pump
Testing
Visual (daily and after use)
- defects/damage
- clean and dust caps in place
- hydraulic fluid leaks
- carry handle
Operational (weekly and after repair)
- operate through full range
- operates correctly
- no leaks
- control handle operates smoothly
