How does epiglottitis present?

A
  • Severe sore throat and painful swallowing
  • Muffled/Hot Potato voice
  • Stridor
  • Respiratory distress
  • Tripod/Sniffing position
  • Fever

  • Mainly clinical
  • Neck radiograph: thumb sign
  • Blood cultures and throat swab
