Explain digitiation
Digitization= converting analog info to digital (scanning documents or transforming something else into a file or similar)

Digitalization= Using digital tools to improve business processes
Explain digital transformation
Digital transformation= a strategic change in the business or company. For example, a new business model, customer shift, cultural shift.
What is industry 4.0?
Was introduced by the Germans called the forth industrial revolution. The goal was to increase efficiency, productivity and speed through fully automated and connected systems.
Whats is industry 5.0?
Was recently introduced by the European union (EU). It does. It goes beyond technology and rather focuses on putting people and the planet in the center.
Lean principles align with industry 5.0
Explain additive manufacturing (AM)
Is an industrial term for 3D printing. It refers to the process of creating physical objects layer by layer from digital 3D model.
Four step process of additive manufacturing is?
-Design- a digital 3D model is created using CAD (Computer- Aided Desing)
-Slicing: The model is sliced into many horizontal layers
-Printing- A machine adds materials like plastic, metal etc.
-Post processing- The object is cleaned, finished or assembled if needed
Benefits for Additive manufacturing
-Cheaper for low volume products
-Less waste, uses only materials that is needed
-Faster prototyping
Challenges for “Additive manufacturing”?
-Skill gap, requires new training and design mindset
-High cost for machines and software’s
-Can be very slow for mass productions
-Needs a lot of energy
Digital twin is?
A real- time digital replica of a physical object. It’s used for monitoring simulation and predictive maintenance.
