Een MOLEN, bloemen en KOEIEN in een STUK groen land.
A mill, flowers and COWS in a PIECE (of) green land.
Heel VLAK, NERGENS zie je BERGEN.
Very FLAT, NOWHERE see you MOUNTAINS.
Dat is precies het beeld dat mensen van Nederland hebben.
That is exactly the image what people from Netherlands have.
( that’s how they think about Holland)
Klopt dat niet?
Is dat beeld verkeerd?
Right that not?
Is that image wrong?
Ja en nee.
Ik ben er een paar maal geweest.

In ieder geval zie je veel koeien en bloemen enzovoort.

Dat is op het platteland.
That is on the countryside.
Nederland heeft ook een andere kant.
Netherlands has also an other side.
Er is NAMELIJK een groot VERSCHIL tussen stad en platteland.
There is NAMELY a big DIFFERENCE between city and countryside.
En tussen het WESTEN en de REST.
And between the WEST and the REST.
Vertel DAAR eens wat meer OVER.

In het westen liggen de grote steden.
In the west lie the big city’s.
Die heten samen: De RANDSTAD.
They named together: The RANDSTAD.
De AFSTAND tussen de steden is heel klein.
The DISTANCE between the citys is very little.
Eigenlijk is het één grote stad.
Actually is it one big city.
Het is er BEHOORLIJK druk, de wegen staan altijd vol VERKEER.
It is there QUITE busy, the roads stands always full (of) TRAFFIC.
Maar buiten de randstad zijn RUSTIGE DORPEN.
But outside the randstad are QUIET VILLAGES.
Hoe groot is Nederland?
How big is Holland?
Groot? Heel klein.
Je reist in een HALVE dag van NOORD naar ZUID.
Big? Very small.
You travel in a HALF day from NORTH to SOUTH.
En in NAUWELIJKS twee uur van WEST naar OOST.
And in BARELY two hours from WEST till EAST.
Overal wonen mensen.
Everywhere live people.
