• More recent in terms of impact
• On any scale
What are endogenous factors?
• Internal factors which shape a places character
• Could be physical or human related
• May have existed for centuries in terms of impact
• Important for a places’ culture and locale

• Broadband technology, satellite and internet caused Salford Quays to be major area for media

• 1982 - Docks closed so many people moved away
• 2007 - BBC moved to Salford spearheading creation of MediaCityUK which lead to many more external corporations migrating here
