Hypomagnesemia, torsades, eclamptic seizures & adjunct treatment for acute asthma

Hypocalcemia, heart block, myocardial damage & anuria

ALOC, hypotension, heart block and hypocalcemia

Action?
A
Acts as a physiological channel blocker, CNS depressant & anti-convulsant. Depresses the function of smooth, skeletal & cardiac muscles

A
1 to 2 g IVP over 1-2 min

ADULT SEIZURE?
A
4 to 5 g IVP concurrently up to 5 g IM in each buttock then 4 to 5 g every 4 hours
