Indications?
A
SVT refractory to adenosine, aflutter and afib

Contraindications?
A
Hypotension, cardiogenic shock, heart block, CHF and WPW syndrome with afib

Side Effects?
A
Hypotension, heart block, CHF, headache and dizzy

Action?
A
Slows the AV conduction & suppresses reentry dysrhythmias. Causes dilation of the coronary arteries & reduces the O2 demand of the heart

ADULT?
A
2.5 to 5 mg pushed over 2-3 min, may repeat @ double dose 15-30 min to a MAX TOTAL=20 mg

PEDI? (NEWBORN TO 1 YEAR)
A
0.1 to 0.2 mg/kg slow IVP MAX=2 mg
