Medical Cert validitiy duration

Answer 1

class 1 under 40 years old
- For ATP; 12 months. For lesser operations; 60 months.
class 1 40+ years old
- For ATP; 6 months. For lesser operations; 24 months

Class 3 under 40
- 60 months
Class 3 40+
- 24 months

**For all; expires the last day of the month in which you got your certificate.

Question 2

Basic Med requirements

1. Hold valid/current drivers license
2. Hold or have held a medical after 6/14/2006
3. Complete comprehensive medical exam checklist
4. Get a phyiscal by a state licensed doctor, they must also complete CMEC
5. Take Basic Med online course

Question 3

Basic Med Limitations

Answer 3

Same as PPL/3rd class medical +

1. no more than 5 pax
2. aircraft must have 6,000lb max takeoff weight or less
3. aircraft cannot be authorized to carry more than 6 people total
4. USA only; 250 knots/less, at or below 18,000 feet MSL

Question 4

Requirements to maintain Basic Med privlages

Answer 4

Keep CMEC from within 48 months
Be sure to be treated by physician for med conditions that may affect safety of flight
Be sure to have course completion certificate issued by a basic med training course provider within 24 months
