A

an occurence that takes place between the time any person boards with the intention of flight and all such persons have disembarked, and in which anyone dies or is seriously injured, or the aircraft is substantially damaged

Define a serious injury

A

a. requires hospitalization for more than 48 hour, commencing within 7 days from the date of injury
b. fracture of any bone except simple finger toe or nose fracture
c. causes severe hemorrhages, nerve, muscle, or tendon damage
d. involves any internal organ
e. involves second or thrid degree burns more than 5% of the body’s surface
