What standards does culture define for people?
It can define acceptable clothing, politeness, greetings, hospitality, family structure, and morality
What is the difference between a person’s sex and a person’s gender role?
Sex is the genetic identity as a male or female while gender is the choice to behave as a man or woman.
What is Gender dysphoria?
It is when a person’s sex and gender do not match
Monogamy
Covenant of marriage between one man and one woman for life
Complementary
Men and women are complementary, meaning they complete each other, making up for missing elements in the other sex

Marriage with multiple partners of the opposite sex

Marriage with more than one husband

Sequential marriages, in which a partner forsakes the marriage to marry someone else

They tend to feel less special than others, but they have many friends and are more realistic about life.
What are characteristics of youngest children?
They tend to be manipulative, charming, and irresponsible.
Adopted children
Adopted children leave their family of origin to join a new family. Occasionally, they are insecure in the new family and suffer from attachment disorder for a period
Nuclear family
A family that shares a home (usually a father, mother, and their children)
Extended family
Refers to relatives who do not share a living space with the nuclear family
