• pigmented area on iris surface
• can be flat or slightly raised
• usually regular in shape

Pathogenesis
A
• accumulation of pigmented cells on the anterior of the iris
• melanocytes clumping together

Management
A
• none, patient reassured
• should be monitored with pictures
• change in size / character could indicate malignant melanoma
