  • patients often lack relationships even with family members and distance themselves from all.
  • characterised by just negative symptoms and not associated with and positive symptoms such as overvalued ideas or odd beliefs.

How is serotonin syndrome usually managed?

A
  • management is supportive with fluids.
  • Benzodiazepines may also be given
  • More severe cases are managed using serotonin antagonists such as cyproheptadine and chlorpromazine
