Raine and Baker (2007) (ERQ twins) Flashcards
(6 cards)
aim
to investigate the extent to which antisocial behavior can be attributed to genes
participants
1210 twins in California
method
questionnaires filled by child, caregiver and teacher to test personality, social skills and behaviors that provide a measure of level of antisocial behavior
statistical analysis and comparison between identical and fraternal –> correlations formed were compared
results
heritability always came at around 50% no matter the measure used
antisocial behavior was half genetics and half environmental factors
conclusion
similarities between identical twins could be explained by their looks, looking the same often get the same treatment whereas fraternal twins can be different gender meaning they might be raised differently
key terms
heritability
identical and fraternal twins
antisocial behavior
