Q

Describe the role of auxins in phototropism.

A

auxins are produced in the tips of a shoot, auxins diffuse to the shaded side and elongate the cells, which make the shoot grow towards the light

Q

Describe the role of auxins in gravitropism.

A

auxins are found in root-tips. Auxins stop the roots elongating, growth is in the direction of gravity therefore ensuring they reach moisture
