Negative effects of keeping secrets

A

Hyperaccessibility: obsessive thinking about it.

Rebound Effect: forget until stimulus

Fever model of self-disclosure: pressure makes you blurt it out (infidelity)

“Split-loyalty pattern”: choose b/w being loyal or those hurt by not knowing.
