What is a security measure?
Keeping it secure from strangers and intruders entering the building and preventing service users leaving the care setting to maintain the safety of the care setting.
What is a security measure used in places that look after vulnerable people like children?
Window safety and locks will be required.
What is a security measure for places that look after individuals? ( care homes, school, nurseries)

- Make service users feel safe
- Know who they can communicate with, helps people identify who is not a member of staff.
What is the method of monitoring keys?
List of key holders
Why is having a list of key holders important? (3)
- Know who has access to keys
- Limits number of people with access to keys - need to know basis only
- No one authorised can enter the building because they would not have access to the keys
What are the methods for receiving and monitoring visitors? (3)
- Staff on duty at entrance to monitor access
- Signing in and out book for visitors
- Issue visitor badges

Know who is accessing and entering the premises
