A
A life-threatening systemic infection causing widespread inflammation and organ failure.

What are signs of sepsis?
A
Fever or hypothermia, tachycardia, hypotension, altered mental status, and mottled skin.

What is EMT treatment for sepsis?
A
Suspect sepsis in infected patients with altered mental status or low blood pressure, support airway/breathing/circulation, administer oxygen, and prioritize rapid transport.
