Flashcards in Serum Sickness Deck (7):
What antibodies lead to activation of complement system and what pathway do they activate
IgM, IgG1, IgG2, IgG3
These all activate the classical pathway.
IgG4 activate the alternative pathway.
What is the mechanism of action of these antibodies
They form immune complexes which bind to C1q
What is a chimeric antibody
Mouse Fab region with a human Fc region
Patients who are treated with rituximab how do we check their B cell numbers
Look for CD 19 since all the CD20 is bound with Rituximab
How are immune complexes cleared?
They are removed by phagocytes
We make IgM antibodies to our IgG antibodies
