What is a smart material?
A material that changes its properties in response to changes in its environment, such as temperature, light or pressure.
What are thermochromic pigments?
Pigments that change colour in response to changes in temperature.
Give two examples of thermochromic pigment applications.
Baby spoons that change colour when food is too hot

Why are thermochromic pigments used?
For safety indicators, novelty products, and to improve user interaction by giving visual feedback based on temperature.
What is self-cleaning glass?
Glass coated with a special chemical layer that breaks down dirt using UV light and allows rainwater to wash it away easily.

What are the advantages of using self-cleaning glass?
