Units and measurements Flashcards
(11 cards)
What unit is used to measure electric current?
Amps (A) and milliamps (mA).
What is 1 amp equal to in milliamps?
1000 milliamps.
What unit is used to measure voltage?
Volts (V) and millivolts (mV).
What is 1 volt equal to in millivolts?
1000 millivolts.
What unit is used to measure resistance?
Ohms (Ω), kilohms (kΩ), and mega-ohms (MΩ).
What is 1 kilohm equal to?
1000 ohms.
What is 1 mega-ohm equal to?
1,000,000 ohms.
What is Ohm’s Law formula?
V = I × R (Voltage = Current × Resistance).
If current (I) is 2 A and resistance (R) is 5 Ω, what is the voltage (V)?
V = 2 × 5 = 10 volts.
If voltage (V) is 12 V and resistance (R) is 4 Ω, what is the current (I)?
I = V ÷ R = 12 ÷ 4 = 3 amps.
If voltage (V) is 9 V and current (I) is 3 A, what is the resistance (R)?
R = V ÷ I = 9 ÷ 3 = 3 ohms.
