Stages of Labour
A
○ A. 1st stage 9-11 hours
■ Latent phase: cervical effacement and early dilation 5-8 h
■ Active phase: advanced dilation beginning after 4 cm (2-6 h)
○ B. 2nd stage 1 h: complete cervical dilation through delivery of infant
○ C. 3rd stage 5-30 min: after delivery of infant through delivery of placenta
○ D. 4th stage: First 2 hours postpartum
