2+2=4, tell the learner, “What’s 2+2” then say “2+2=4”!! Then the learner says 2+2=4. Okay now we want to fade the prompt. So repeat, 2+2 is 4. (no longer saying 2+2=4). Then they should say 4 back. Then what’s 2+2? We hold up four fingers and they say 4! And lastly, we say what’s 2+2 and they now can say 4 without a prompt.
