Task 4 Flashcards
Preference Assessments: Conduct preference assessments (11 cards)
What is your role as an RBT in assessments?
to assist the bcba
When do you do preference assessments?
Constantly. We want to stay up on what our client enjoys and always looking for reinforcers
Types of preference assessments
Single stimulus, forced choice/Paired Stimulus, multiple stimulus with and without replacement
Forced choice / Paired Stimulus
Give them two items (Item A and B). Client chooses item A. Replace item B with item C. They choose item C. Give them item B and item C. They choose item C. This helps you decide what they like best.
Forced choice hierarchy: They chose item C twice, item A once and item B zero
What is the most common assessment that you do as an RBT?
Forced choice / Paired Stimulus
Naturalistic assessment (free operant)
You would be observing the client as they engage in their environment & taking duration data in what they are engaging in. Not manipulating anything.
Single stimulus
Handing different items and seeing their reaction
Multiple Stimulus with replacement MSWR
Lay out three or more items and you have them choose. Put back the item they chose and replace the other items and continue. This process is repeated several times-typically until each item has been presented a minimum of two times. From there, a hierarchy of preferences is created.
Multiple Stimulus without replacement MSWO
You would take out the item they choose. keep going until there are no toys left and then take data on the hierarchy.
What assessment is rare?
Multiple stimulus with or without replacement
in the moment reinforcer analysis
Observing the client in their current environment and taking data on what they use and their response towards that item they choose. To hopefully find potential reinforcers.
