A

Focuses on short-term memory
2 separate components - visual + verbal
function independently

Visuo-spatial sketchpad

A

visual + spatial tasks
Visual cache/store (holds info based on colour + form)

Q

Episodic Buffer

A

General store
Buffer = temporary store for holding information
seen as “storage component” of CE
integrates visual-spatial and sound into episodes
records info in episodes, so it is time-sequenced
stores any information not visual or sound
capacity - 4 chunks

Q

AO3

A

KF
brain damage -STM severely impaired
ST of forgetting auditory> ST of forgetting visual
separate components

Dual-task performance
difficulty doing two tasks (visual) than verbal + visual
compete for same component

case study
lack population validity

Dual-tasks relies highly on controlled lab conditions
lack of ecological valdity
