He could have doen it at any time but he did it because – to prove mans dependence on god, slow our need for a savior, to show that the greater the king, the greater his preparation.

Babylonia-captured jews, Persia-released jews from babylonians, grece-OT translated to greek[ helping jews learn, and rome- helped spread christianity…..
