Q

ADS-B discussion neo versus classic
Ads-c
ATN
CPDLC

A

ADS-B (broadcast) on the 900 is in and out classic out only both through the transponder. ADS-C (contract 10 min) on both is thru the acars. On 900 is acars thru ATN using Vdl 2. Classics is acars but not thru atn so atc doesn’t allow us to use for pilot controller, communication. CPDLC controller pilot data link communication is through acars on Classix to Gander ATC not Gander radio. Is text messaging. CPDLC on the 900 is through VDL2 through ATN Netwerk to Gander ATC. And through satcom if VHF not available. Domestic CPDLC on the classics is through acars VHF three to ATC not through ATN. Neo is also through acars VHF three, but uses VDL 2 ATN Netwerk, which allows pilot controller direct communication.
