A

High prevalence in clinical cases;
PTSD: intrusive memory/flashback
OCD: obsessions, compulsions

Intrusive memories after 3 months, still have them a year later (25%) Correlated with PTSD, but initial difference in trauma response already

Trauma

A

Sensory experiences by nature, People with PTDS tend to avoid intrusive cues.

OCD

A

Mostly related to future events. Compulsions are the repetitive compelling behaviours to reduce stress. Becomes problematic if it causes severe distress or avoidance. Related to negative appraisal.

Ego-dystonic

A

The intrusions don’t match the personal self-image. Often aggressive, harming children.

Thought-action fusions

A

Drive of avoidance behaviour, think thoughts about it increase the likelihood of it happening. These show higher prob of developing OCD.
