- industrialization (energy and natural resources in demand)
What are the effects of environmental changes?
- oil could be used up at a fast rate (within the next 30-40 years)
- coal reserves could be depleted in 60 years
- 31 countries are facing water scarcity
- more than 1 billion people lack clean, accessible drinking water
