GCU inhibits the auto transfer system on the affected side

WING A/I CROSS BLEED rotary switch

1. From left the right wing anti-icing valve is closed and the crossbleed valve opens to permit bleed air from the left engine to provide anti-icing to both wings

2. From right the left wing anti-icing valve is closed and the crossbleed valve opens to permit bleed air from the right engine to provide anti-icing to both wings

BLEED VALVES rotary switch

1. AUTO allows for automatic operation the bleed valve
2. CLSD selects the valves to the closed position

3. MANUAL allows for manual open or closed operation of the valve (controlled by the ACSC) ISOL toggle switch
- CLSD allows the valve to open automatically when the APU LCV is opened; during crossbleed starts and cycled open/closed during the automatic transfer of bleeds between the APU and engines
- OPEN allows manual operation of the valve in conjunction with the BLEED VALVES rotary switch in the manual position

BLEED SOURCE rotary switch

1. BOTH ENG the left and right engines bleed valve is open if both engines are capable of supplying bleed air. The APU LCV is closed (normal operations)

2. L ENG the left engine bleed valve is opened if the left engine is capable bleed air. The right engine bleed valve and the APU LCV are closed

3. R ENG the right engine bleed valve is open if the right engine is capable of supplying bleed air. The left engine and the APU LCV are closed

PWR/FUEL switch (APU)

1. Pressed in ECU is powered, APU IN BITES (built in test) status message
2. APU SOV OPEN status message
3. Air inlet door opens
4. APU RPM and EGT gauges are displayed on the EICAS status page
5. Fuel pump comes on

PUMP FAIL portion of the switchlight illuminates (APU)

indicates a failed APU pump

Indicates APU SOV not in the commanded position

1. Pressed in ignition is activated
2. Starter motor is energized
3. Fuel shutoff valve opens
4. Start switchlight illuminates

1. Pressed in, isolation valve opens
2. Associated start valve opens
3. START switchlight illuminates
4. L or R ENGINE START status message displayed

STOP switchlight (APU)

Discontinues the start sequence by closing the ATS (air turbine starter) valve on the associated engine

Engages the continuous ignition

Toggle switch 1 (1B)

1. AUTO position allows pump 1B to operate when its respective BUS is powered and at least 1 generator online and the flaps out of the zero position

2. ON position allows the pump to operate when its respective BUS is powered and at least 1 generator online, regardless of flap position (Manual mode)

3. OFF position, pump is off

Toggle switch 3A

1. ON position allows the operation of the AC motor pump 3A
2. OFF position, the pump is off

Have the same operation as toggle switch 1 (1B)

Pre-selects the landing field elevation

MAN ALT toggle switch

1. Controls the cabin pressurization in manual mode
2. UP/DN commands the cabin altitude to climb or descend
3. HOLD holds the selected cabin altitude

EMER DEPRESS guarded switchlight

1. Pressed in the manual DC motor will drive the outflow valve to fully open. Depressurization the airplane, switchlight illuminates

PRESS CONT switchlight

1. Pressed in allows the outflow valve to be manually operated, in conjunction with the MAN RATE toggle and rotary switches (MAN portion of the switchlight illuminates

2. The FAULT portion of the switchlight illuminates indicates both pressurization controllers have failed

With the cabin pressurization in the manual mode, controls the rate of change of the cabin altitude

PACK (Pneumatic Air Conditioning Kit) L or R

1. L PACK switchlight pressed in supplies the flight deck through the mixing manifold

Increases or decreases flight deck or passenger cabin temperature in manual mode

1. Allows the auto temperature control via the ACSC mixing hot and cold air

2. Allows the pilot to set a pre-selected temperature in the flight deck as well as the passenger cabin

CARGO switch (3 positions)

1. OFF; closes intake and exhaust SOVs to seal aft cargo bay enclosure

2. AIR; SOVs opened to allow recirculated or conditioned air to ventilate the aft cargo bay

3. COND AIR: Will provide automatic temperature control of aft cargo bay utilizing electric heater

ON: AILC (Anti-Leak Detection Controller) modulates the wing anti-icing valves

White: N2 Arcs appear 0-77%

COWL LH and RH toggle switches

ON: allows the cowl anti-ice SOVs to open which will allow bleed air into the leading edge of the cowls via a piccolo tube

DET TEST switchlight (3 separate functions)

1. The switchlight is used to test the ice detector circuitry and probes. Successful test will be indicated by an ICE caution and illumination of the DET TEST switchlight

2. Pressed in and hold by the pilot will test the probes and sensor heaters. Successful test will be indicated by a green ADS HEAT TEST OK advisory message

3. When in icing conditions with the wing or cowls off, the switchlight will illuminate, along with an ICE caution message

WSHLD LH and RH toggle switches

1. Low; All 4 panels are heated to 24 degrees C

2. HI; Windshields are heated to 41 degrees C

WSHLD TEST button

1. Pressed in, Initiates a self-test of the windshield heating system. A successful test is indicated by the L and R WSHLD HEAT and L and R WINDOW HEAT caution message (windshields and windows must be energized prior to the test)

PROBES toggle switches

1. ON: On ground with AC power supplied, TAT and pitot bases are off

Static and AOA vane are heated

Pitot heads are half heated
