How does smooth muscle in the arterioles help redistribute blood during exercise
-the smooth muscle in arterioles leading to the gut and kidneys can contract and cause the diameter to narrow aloowing less blood to pass through causing VASOCONSTRICTION
-the smooth muscle in the arterioles leading to working muscles can relax cause the diameter to widen allowing more blood to pass through VASODILATION
How do precapillary sphincters help with the redistribution of blood during exercise
As blood arrives at the capillaries,pre capillary sphincters push blood straight through the tissues that need less oxygenated blood (gut and kidneys) and back round to the heart so the blood can be redirected to the skeletal muscle where oxygenated blood is required more.
