1
Q

What are the three main branches of the coeliac trunk?

A

The left gastric, splenic and common hepatic artery

2
Q

The coeliac trunk supplies the gut from where to where?

A

From the lower oesophagus to the bile duct, plus derivatives and spleen

3
Q

What is found either side of the coeliac trunk?

A

The coeliac ganglia one on each side

4
Q

At what level does the coeliac trunk divide into its three branches?

A

At the upper border of the pancreas

5
Q

What is the path of the left gastric artery?

A

The left gastric runs up the left crus giving an oesophageal branch (lower 1/3), then enters the lesser omentum

6
Q

What is the path of the splenic artery? (two stages)

A
  • The splenic artery runs across the upper border of the pancreas over the left crus and psoas
  • At the hilum of the left kidney it turns forward in the lienorenal ligament to the hilum of the spleen
7
Q

What does the splenic artery supply?

A

The spleen, and is the main supply to the pancreas. Gives off the short gastric arteries and the left gastroepiploic artery

8
Q

What is the party of the common hepatic artery?

A

The common hepatic artery passes over the upper border of the pancreas then downwards to the first part of the duodenum.
It turns forward at the exilic foramen to run upwards, and changes its name. Divides at the port hepatis

9
Q

What are the branches of the common hepatic artery?

A

The common hepatic artery gives off the right gastric artery to the lesser curve of the stomach, and the gastroduodenal arteries.
The right gastroepiploic enters the greater omentum
The superior pancreaticoduodenal has two branches encircling the pancreatic concavity.

10
Q

The venous drainage of the foregut is very similar to the arterial supply, however which artery has no corresponding vein?

A

The gastroduodenal artery

11
Q

What contributes to the splenic vein? To where does the splenic vein drain?

A

The short gastric, gastroepiploic veins and pancreatic tributaries and IMV unite with the SMV to form the portal vein

12
Q

List the six tributaries of the splenic vein

A

xx

13
Q

Describe the course of the splenic vein

A

The splenic vein runs below the splenic artery through the leinorenal ligament, over the left kidney, psoas, ST???, crus, aorta, SMA and IVC

14
Q

What joints the SMV?

A

The right gastroepiploic vein

15
Q

Where do the superior pancreaticoduodenal veins run?

A

In the curvature between the pancreas and duodenum

16
Q

What is the venous drainage of the right and left gastric and right and left gastroepiploic arteries?

A

Veins correspond with these arteries
