SS- Pain in snuffbox, mild swelling tenderness
TEst- Compress 1st MT into scaphoid
Dr Quervains syndrome MOI, SS, Test
Moi- repetitive use of thumb and ulnar dev.
SS- synovitis, irritation of tendon sheath that encompasses the extensor policies + abductor polices
Test- put into ulnar dev
Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex injury MOI, SS
Moi- force that distracts the ulnar aspect of wrist
SS- Pain w weight bearing of arm
- Hyperextension + ulnar dev cause pain on ulnar side of wrist
Anterior capsule strain of hand MOI, SS
Moi- FOOSH, over extension of wrist
SS- dull, achey pain in anterior wrist
Posterior capsule strain of hand MOI, SS
MOI- hyper flexion of wrist
SS- dull achey pain in posterior wrist
Carpal tunnel MOI, SS, Tests
MOI- compassion of median nerve
SS- pain, numbness, tingling in fingers
Test- nerve tap, compression, stretch nerve
Claw hand MOI, SS
Moi- weakness _ atrophy of hand intrinsic muscles
SS-extension of the MCP, Flex of PIP+DIP
Boutonniere deformity MOI, SS
MOI- rapid forceful flexion against resistance
- blunt trauma to dorsal segment of PIP
S+S- rupture of extensor tendon @ middle phalanx
Swan neck deformity MOI, SS
MOI- due to trauma of finger flexor or extensor muscle
SS- flexion of MCP+ DIP hyper extension of PIP
