Q

What are outcome oriented goals? Give an example

A

Set with a specific aim to beat and show superiority over others. E.G to win a race to set a record. Performer continually achieve goal = high motivation and confidence But it is unrealistic to always expect victory/success = reduced confidence

Q

What are Task orientated Goals? Give an example

A

Do not seek to measure a persons ability against others, Aim = master a skill and improve individual performance (rather than comparison to others). Process is more important than outcome. Regardless of result confidence is high. EG master front drop on a trampoline or gain PB in Javelin throw even if you come last in the competition
