What are synovial joints?

Contains a joint cavity.

12

What are the 3 types of fibrous joints? What is its functional classification? What connects them?

1.Suture: Synarthrosis (does not move!). Dense CT 2. Gomphoses: Tooth joint. Synarthrosis, Periodontal ligaments. 3.Syndesmoses: Amphiarthrosis (slightly movable), Connected by ligaments (radius and ulna).

13

What are the two different cartilaginous joints? Functional classification? Connected by?

1. Synchondrosis: Synarthrosis (no movement), Hyaline cartilage. 2. Symphysis: Amphiarthrosis, fibrocartilage.
