Cells Flashcards
(4 cards)
What is a eukaryote and prokaryote Cell?
Eukaryote is when a cell has a nucleus and is more complex
Prokaryote is when a cell is smaller and simpler and doesn’t have a nucleus
What subcellular structures does an animal cell contain?
Nucleus , control the cell , genetic material
Cytoplasm , where chemical reactions take place, contain enzymes
Cell membrane , holds cell together control what goes in and out
Mitochondria , where respiration happens, transfers energy
Ribosomes , translation of genetic material in synthesis of protein
What subcellular structures does a plant cell have ?
Plants cells have most animal cells subcellular structures and:
Cell wall , cellulose wall that supports the cell
Large vacuole , contains cell sap keeps internal pressure
Chloroplasts , photosynthesis happens here, full of chlorophyll
Subcellular structures of a bacteria cell ?
Chromosomal DNA , controls activities and replication, floats around
Ribosomes , where synthesis of protein happens
Cell membrane , holds cell together what goes in and out
Plasmid DNA , small loops of DNA drug resistance passed along
Flagellum , controls movement of the cell towards oxygen away pathogens
