To investigate whether BII phobia could be treated successfully via CBT and applied muscle tension.

- Questionnaires and interviews
- Psychoeducation and fear heirachy- T was educated about how common phobias are. A fear heirarchy was also created, which the ppt went through.
- 9 CBT sessions + muscle tension exercises
What is Beck’s Depression Invetory?
A 21 item self-report questionnaire that assess the severity of a person’s depression, through 21 multiple-choice questions measuring mood, behaviour and somatic symptoms, with each item being rated on a 4 point scale.
What is Beck’s Anxiety Invetory?
A 14 item self-report questionnaire that assesses the frequency of anxiety symptoms over a 1 week period, it specifically measures somatic symptoms and cognitive symptoms associated with anxiety.
What is the Quality of Life Enjoyment Satisfaction Questionnaire (QLSQ)?
A 16 item questionnaire used to assess an individual’s overall satisfaction with different areas of life (health, relationships).
What is the Blood Injection Symptom Scale?
A scale used to asses the severity of fear and physiological responses (fainting, nausea) when exposed to blood, injections and injuries.
What is the Subjective Unit of Discomfort Scale (SUDS)?
A numerical scale, typically ranging from 0 to 100, used to measure the level of distress/ anxiety an individual feels about a specific memory or event during therapy.
Used at differnet stages of the hierachy exposure.
Usually used to assess level of disress and anxiety during therapies such as EMDR and exposure based therpaies.
