What were the results from the scales/ questionnaires BEFORE the treatment?
A
Ppt had severe anxiety, minimal depressive symptoms, but overall good health and satisfaction in most areas.
However, he showed intense fear and anxiety surronding blood and injection.

What were the results from the SUDS after treatment?
A
- Ppts sucessfully completed every stage of the fear hierarchy (without his SUDs score becoming too high)
- SUDS score decreased from 40/100 to 0/100.

What were the results from the 4, 10 and 12 month follow ups?
A
- The ppts reported that he had attended several medical appointments.
- The self-report measures reflected that his anxiety levels dropped significantly and that he no longer showed fear toward medical related stimuli (no longer qualified for BIIP).
- Reported he ‘never felt better’

A
CBT (psychological therapy) and applied muscle tension (behavioural therapies) can be used as successful treatments of BII phobia.
