Traditional Family life cycle
Represents the life stages of a typical family. It is a composite variable that combines marital status, size of family, age of family members and employment status of the head of household, and then classifies the family into a “typical” stage.
Nontraditional families
Families that do not readily fit into the traditional family life cycle.
Stages in the family life cycle
Bacherlorhood - Honeymooners - Parenthood - Post parenthood - Dissolution
Socialization agent
Is the person or organization involved in the socialization process because of frequency of contact with the individual and control over the rewards and punishments given to the individual
Social Class
The division of members of a society into a hierarchy of distinct status classes
Family
Two or more persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption residing together.
Household
Marketers monitor households’ consumer behavior—the products they own and buy, the media they watch or participate in, and families’ decision-making
Nuclear family
The nuclear family is the cohabiting family formed by the members of a single-family nucleus, the group formed by the parents and one or more children.
