1. Blocks Na+ reabsorption in distal tubule
2. Increases K+ & water excretion

1. Mid-Moderate HTN
2. Edema due to HF
3. Liver failure
4. Renal failure

1. Dehydration
2. Electrolyte imbalances

1. Hypokalemia*
2. Severe hepatic & Renal failure

1. Monitor pt taking Lanoxin for dysrhythmias, N/V, visual changes
2. May raise BG

2. Anesthetic effect on the bladder mucosa (Changes urine red-orange)

1. Dysuria (painful urination), urgency nocturia
2. TURP surgery (BPH) pregnancy- anticholinergic

3. Restlessness
4. N/V

6. Heart palpatations
7. Tachycardia
8. Urinary retention
9. Renal Stones/Renal failure

1. Narrow angle glaucoma
2. Myasthenia Gravis
3. CAD
4. GI bleeding/Motility issues
