25
Facial Nerve Branches
1. Greater petrosal Nerve - lacrimal gland (passes the foramen lacerum) 2. nerve to stapedius - supply stapedial muscle, prevent hypermovement of stapes 3. Chorda tympani - joins with the lingual nerve - supply submandibular and sublingual salivary gland; taste sensation from ant 2/3 of tongue 4. post auricular, nerve to post. belly of digastric, nerve to sylomastoid muscle - exit from stylomastoid foramen 5. Parotid Plexus - divides into 5 branches
