  1. Participants read a 2 page article on psychoimmunology while wearing headphones that were either silent or had a recording for from the noise of the cafeteria at lunch.
  2. Participants were given both a recall and a recognition test again with headphones that had one of the two sounds (so there were 4 conditions in total)
