Quantitative findings
90% of first helpers were male
Ill victims were helped 95% of the time whereas drunk victims were helped 50% of the time
Qualitative findings
Race and number of bystanders did not make a difference
‘It’s for men to help’
Conclusions
Big difference between helpers for drunk and ill victims
There was no diffusion of responsibility
