What are the steps in the scientific method?
- Make an observation
- Ask a question
- Make an educated guess or hyopthesis
- Design an experiment with a control
- Gather your data.
(If its wrong redesign experiement, if right shares your results)

What are the three common shapes of bacteria?
- Rod
- Spheres- Round
- Spirial
What are the two results of a gram stam test?
Gram postive, gram negative
What color does gram positive stain?
purple
What color does gram negative stain?
light pink, red. Paler color than gram positive.
What are 4 types of biogolgical molecules (Big Mac)
- Carbohydrates (bun)
- Lipids, fat, oils, waxes etc. (sause)
- Protein (hamburger meat)
- Nucleic acids (let, and pickles) (RNA-DNA)
What did we use in lab to test for starches?
iodine
What did we use to lab to test for lipids, fats?
benedicts
What did we do in the lab to test for phosphates?
birupts
What is the basic equation for photosynthesis?
H20+CO2 (Sunlight) = Glucose+ 02
What is the basic equation for celluar respiration?
glucose+ 02= CO2+H20+ATP
What organism uses the outer areas of the visble spectrum?
Plants
What colors do plants like on the visble spectrum?
reds and blues
What color do plants hate and why?
Green because it reflects it back, put plants under green light will die.
Define anarobic resipiration?
without oxygen
Define aerboic respiration?
with oxygen
What is the purpose of photosyntheis?
to manfacture food for the plant
What is an isontonic solution and what does it have to do to balance out?
Same amount of water outside the cell as inside the cell. Is the same at a equilibrium
What is hypotonic solution and what does it have to do to balance out?
Less water in the cell than outside the cell. To make equal the water will try to get into the cell and the cell will swell and expand. Plants cells are hypotonic to get them to stand up.
What is a hypertonic solution and what does it have to do to balance out?
Less water outside then inside the cell. To make equal the cell will have to shrink.
Define metabolism
Total of chemical processes or reactions in living organisms= sum of all life’s processes
Study how to replicate DNA
I DID!!!!
What are the three steps of DNA replication?
- Seperation, 2. Complimetary base pairing and 3. Joining
Define the centrils and their function
cell divison
Define the nucleus and its function
control center of cell, houses genetic information
Define the mitochondria and its function
power house of the cell, produces cellullar engery or ATP
Define ribsomes and its function
deal in protein syntheis
What is the rough er
ribosomes all around it, their protein goes into rough er
What is the function of smooth er
detox, get rid of substances the cell does not need. production center
What is the function of the Golgi apparatus
packages things
What is the function of the vacoules?
hold liquid substances
What are the lysomes?
suicide bags, digestive enezymes, reuse cell parts, get rid of damaged stuff in the cell.
What is flagella
in sperm, whipping directions
What is cilcia
all move in unison in one direction outside the cell.
What is cellouse and what cell has it?
what the cell wall is made out (plant cells)
What is the central vacolue and why is it important?
Takes up a majority of the cell, fills up with as much stuff as possible, expands hits up agianst the plasma membrane then agaisnt the cell wall and makes it stand up right.
What are the chloroplasts?
responsible for photosyntheis
